The history of Clos Labellie, gite in Saint-Emilion

After more than 20 years of career in the hotel industry and administration, we decided in 2019 to open our guest house in Saint-Emilion; Our family roots naturally led us to Gironde where we fell in love with this 16th century building: Le Clos Labellie.

The former owners have renovated this old barn which once housed cattle from the village of Lugaignac.

Various research led us to the Gallo Roman past of the place called Labellie and the presence of thermal baths in front of the house (hence the Source which still flows within the property today).

Animals are not allowed in our property

We wanted a gite where life is good, an authentic and family place; Everyone can meet there, rest, taste, discover, as a couple, with friends or family.

The Clos Labellie will be your home for a night, a weekend or more in Saint-Emilion.

We hope to be able to associate you with this approach and will be delighted to share it with you!

• We sort our waste as much as possible (selective sorting, compost bin, recycling, etc.)

• We work exclusively with eco-labeled cleaning products and favor natural products such as white vinegar (we ban wipes and other large waste generators).

• The watering of the gite's garden and the filling of the swimming pool are entirely provided by the source located in the wood of the property.

• In order to enhance the territory, we consume and buy local in the region of the gîte and Saint-Emilion.

• As far as possible, we have decided to furnish our rooms and spaces with second-hand, recycled furniture in order to encourage the circular economy; the materials chosen for the renovations of the cottage are natural materials (lime, hemp, natural pigments etc.).

• Linen management while preserving the planet (change of sheets from 3 nights)

• Creation of a vegetable garden in 2022 to offer our customers 100% organic and local vegetables and fruits.
